Who We Are
We’re Nick and Brett. Our journey began with a shared love of wine and entertaining, hosting regular wines in the backyard.
What started as an idea for a wine bar in Sydney’s inner west evolved into something more ambitious — creating our own vineyard and winery.
In late 2021, we made the leap to Glen Aplin in Queensland’s Granite Belt, where we purchased a former tomato farm and by 2022 planted our first vines.
Here, we’re building Witby Estate — short for wine in the backyard — a place where our passion for wine, community, and connection can take root.
Our Supervisors
We are dutifully supervised by Courtney-Act and Trixie-Mattel.
Our boarder collies work hard chasing birds and wildlife out of the vineyard ensuring that enough fruit is left to make your wine.
When they're with us in the vineyard they ensure we keep moving and don't slack off, often lending a hand with collecting cut canes and mulching them.
